Who is the United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church is a global denomination dedicated to making disciples of Jesus Christ to transform the world by opening hearts, minds, and doors through active engagement. United Methodists emphasize living out faith and love in action, grounded in the belief that God loves all people and that Jesus Christ embodies the fullness of God's love through His teachings, death, and resurrection. Rooted in the 18th-century Methodist movement founded by John Wesley, the church continues to focus on God’s grace, serving others, and incorporating reason and experience into its practices.

Who is Aldersgate United Methodist Church

We began in 2001 when a group of core members, along with our senior pastor started meeting weekly at a local coffee shop. In 2005 we moved into an old church building and have been worshiping there ever since!

Our Culture

The Gospel is ultimately about humanity being restored to God’s community. Only through practicing community will individuals grow fully in the grace and knowledge to be found in Jesus. Furthermore, it is through community that a fragmented world can best witness the power of the Gospel and the nature of God’s work. As a culture of confession, transformation, friendship, forgiveness, justice, power, and love springs up in the lives of normal people, those who don’t know Christ will be compelled to ask: "what is happening?"
